The film was written in collaboration with the famous journalist Roxana Saberi. “No One Knows about Persian Cats” is a documentary on Tehranian rebel group. Shooting of this film landed the film crew in jail twice during the time of production. The story us about Negar and Ashkan who want to start a band which they refer to as Indie Rock. The names are favorable and the cast is good too. The movie has some shots wherein Roxana Saberi is seen entering and exiting in short cuts.

The music in this film is sweet and moody which makes the name Indie Rocks perfect for the band. The two protagonists travel to Europe to find out good musicians who can fulfill their dreams. The backdrop is in the conservative Tehran where it is illegal to have an underground music band. The expression of feeling and creativity rebels against the rules and regulation of the country is the main theme of “No One Knows about Persian Cats”.

However, this film never had much about Persian cats though, just like in the series of “Friends” Phoebe kept singing about smelly cats but never really said anything about it.
